The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. There is nothing I love more than a laid back, family filled day with Steve, the boys, good food and beverages. And, maybe a firework or two.
We spent a few hours in the morning out at the farm hanging out and weeding the garden. We spent the rest of the day on a bike ride, at the park and then many, many hours in our backyard swimming in the pool, playing in the sandbox and just relaxing. I ended up knitting two dishcloths yesterday.
Charlie & goofing off at the fireworks
After grilling some steaks and veggies, we relaxed a bit before heading over to the park for the fireworks. Adam took a little nap during that time since he hadn’t napped at all. After the fireworks started, Adam made it five minutes and wanted to go home to bed. Charlie was having a blast watching the fireworks through the 3-D lens that some girl had given him (talk about cool!), but fell asleep about 20 minutes into the show. We didn’t make it to the grand finale as we decided it was better to take the kiddos home. Thankfully, it was posted on Facebook this morning to see! Gotta love my favorite small town.
